Aragon Ballroom

Heavy snowfall and buildup caused a roof failure and partial wall collapse of the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. A longtime client of ours immediately contacted Premier Group for support in reopening on schedule for their summer concert lineup. After assessing the damage our team installed canopies around the building and completed emergency repairs to protect patrons and prevent further loss. We worked with engineers, architects, and the city of Chicago creating detailed reports to restore the building to pre-loss conditions and ensure the building complied with any code changes.

The Aragon Ballroom required extensive repairs to become operational again. We contacted the city of Chicago to ensure our client would be able to safely open their doors by their August 1st, 2021 deadline, then we set to work. We began by removing all rotten decking, roofing, drains, gutters, and damaged parapet walls. Then we redesigned portions of the roof to ensure a healthier overall roofing system. We installed new gutters around the perimeter, ensured proper water flow for better drainage, and installed tapered insulation to avoid water pooling in the future. We then removed and rebuilt all brick sections around the parapet walls and reinforced them with termination bars, to prevent moisture from penetrating the newly installed roofing system. We completed the project by installing a full new TPO roof with a 20-year NDL manufacturer’s warranty.
